Kevin and Johanna Landreneau are a husband and wife team who founded the law firm of Landreneau & Associates in Baton Rouge after each of them had been practicing law for over 25 years. Prior to forming their own law firm, Kevin and Johanna practiced law with the Baton Rouge office of the law firm of Seale & Ross. Both Kevin and Johanna have extensive experience in litigation in the areas of construction, business and successions as well as a general civil law practice. They carried over to their law firm a tradition of excellence and attention to detail in their representation of clients.

Johanna R. Landreneau

Johanna R. Landreneau is a law partner in the law firm of Landreneau & Associates, LLC and has practiced law in Baton Rouge, LA for 27 years. She has represented clients in a broad range of complex civil litigation matters including construction litigation, commercial litigation, insurance defense, and successions. She has experience in all phases of complex litigation, including trial, mediation and appeals. Johanna also has represented small businesses in all areas from business formation and branding to drafting and negotiating contracts. Throughout her career, Johanna has presented seminars for the National Business Institute (NBI) and roundtables on all aspects of estate planning. Johanna formerly had a solo law practice for the first eleven years of her career then practiced in the Baton Rouge office of the law firm of Seale & Ross for almost fifteen years before starting her own law firm with her husband and law partner, Kevin P. Landreneau, in 2019.

Johanna obtained her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge and her law degree from Paul M. Hebert Law Center (LSU) in Baton Rouge. She is admitted to the Louisiana State Bar, the U.S. District Court Middle District of Louisiana and is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association. Johanna is also a member of the national chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and holds a SHRM-CP (SHRM Certified Human Resource Professional).

As a Baton Rouge native, Johanna attended Episcopal High School and graduated from Broadmoor High School and has spent her life raising her family and serving the Baton Rouge community. She worked in her father’s, Bert K. Robinson’s, law firm, Wray, Robinson & Kracht, as an assistant and paralegal all through high school and her undergraduate studies, and then worked at Wray, Robinson & Kracht as a law clerk during law school. She attended Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont  in college to learn the Russian language with a plan to one day practice international law. However, her career plans changed after deciding to make her lifetime home in Baton Rouge.

Johanna and Kevin met their freshman year in law school and have been married for more than thirty years. It was a pleasure for Johanna and Kevin to raise their three children in Baton Rouge and loved being involved in all aspects of their school years that included two degrees from LSU and a third college degree in progress. Johanna and Kevin are members of First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge.

Kevin P. Landreneau

Kevin P. Landreneau attended and graduated from Louisiana State University in 1986 with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and received his Juris Doctor degree from LSU Law Center in 1991, where he was a member of the Louisiana Law Review. He authored and was published while a member of the Louisiana Law Review.

Landreneau practiced with a major Dallas, Texas law firm before returning to practice in Louisiana and is presently admitted to both the Louisiana and Texas Bar, all Louisiana state courts as well as U.S. Court of Appeal– Fifth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts in the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana. During his 20 year tenure at Seale & Ross, Landreneu served as partner prior to being named Of Counsel.

Landreneau’s primary areas of practice are construction law and litigation, commercial and business law and litigation, medical malpractice, products liability, and insurance and surety claims and litigation. Landreneau is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, Associated Builders and Contractors and Louisiana Associated General Contractors. Landreneau has been published and lectures on Construction Law Issues and Insurance Law Issues.

Landreneau’s experience includes jury and judge trials of complex cases in federal and state courts involving multimillion dollar claims. He represents and advises construction clients including owners, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in the prosecution and defense of multimillion dollar construction claims and on multimillion construction contracts and projects. He mediates and arbitrates both complex and simple construction and commercial claims.

Landreneau assists clients including business and public owners, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers with negotiating and drafting contracts. He advises his clients on contract issues and construction management issues. He represents clients in building construction claims, road construction claims, and residential construction claims.

Landreneau also represents medical providers and patients, particularly in the nursing home setting involving medical care issues. He defends manufacturers in jury trials for complex products liability claims involving multiple experts. Over the years, Landreneau has represented commercial insurers and sureties involving a multitude of claims.
